Phenom Recent Developments

In June 2021, Phenom launched its Integration and Configuration Experience. The collection of intuitive self-service tools leverages automation to accelerate initial implementations and simplify ongoing change management. The new experience will reduce initial deployment time by four weeks and save Phenom customers 20,000 hours this year. Couple of weeks earlier Phenom announced Phenom Mentoring — an innovative product that connects employees and experienced leaders seeking a mentor-mentee relationship. With Phenom Mentoring, organizations can leverage automation and artificial intelligence (AI) to match individuals based on their skills, career path, location, goals and mentoring styles.

In May 2021, Phenom launched Phenom Hiring Manager, a powerful set of hiring tools that redesigns hiring, management and collaboration with recruiters. As managers constantly balance growing their teams and leading them to success, they are too often strapped for the time needed to do both. Phenom Hiring Manager changes the equation by empowering managers to easily discover the strongest candidates, manage interviews, evaluate video assessments, deliver real-time feedback to recruiters and make key hiring decisions.

In April 2019 Phenom People introduced Talent Experience Management (TXM) as the holistic approach and platform to connect every interaction throughout the talent lifecycle by delivering personalized experiences. Talent Experience Management unifies technology and experience design to enhance the talent journey, transforming interested candidates to thriving employees to enthusiastic brand advocates, while recruiters and management boost productivity and communicate seamlessly.

The Phenom Talent Experience Management platform enhances the experiences of four key talent stakeholders: candidates, recruiters, employees, and management. When adopted, Talent Experience Management delivers a higher level of talent quality by aligning the objectives, priorities, and actions of these stakeholders. This enables organizations to enhance and personalize every moment along the talent journey.

In January 2019, Phenom People introduced Phenom Bot and Phenom Bot Plus, enabling real-time candidate messaging to engage with active and passive job seekers. Powered by conversational AI and available on Phenom Career Sites, talent acquisition teams can now use bot technology to provide increased personalization, while automating the qualification process, interview scheduling and answering candidates' most frequently asked questions. This automation enables TA teams to spend quality time with candidates and less time in the crux of administrative tasks. The world of attracting, engaging, converting and retaining talent has changed. In parallel with the evolution of how people buy and consume, the way people apply to jobs and engage with employers has also shifted in the last decade. Candidates now expect customization and immediate correspondence across their candidate journey, from first look to the first day. Conversational AI is a response to this shift. Talent acquisition teams are finding new ways to engage with candidates and amplify the candidate recruitment experience. Through greeting, engaging and asking the candidate questions about their career preferences, the Phenom Bot builds the candidate profile and delivers personalized job recommendations, all while enabling the job search and application process directly with a bot.

For the first time, recruitment teams can utilize Phenom Bot Plus, which offloads the time constraints of aggregating candidate's work qualifications, coordinating calendars and answering candidate questions. Eliminating these functions puts quality applications in hand faster and allows for more facetime between recruiter and candidate.

In November 2018, Phenom People released Phenom AI, including hyper-personalized candidate experience, conversational bot to engage, pre-screen and schedule interviews, CRM to discover candidate intetn, engagement and fit score, and an all-new Insights Dashboard that provides a real-time visualization of assigned jobs, leads, applicants, referrals, lists and tasks.

Phenom Mergers and acquisitions (M&A) Activities

In the last year, Phenom realized several acquisitions. In February 2021, Phenom announced its acquisition of Talentcube, an experience-driven video technology company based in Munich, Germany. Phenom’s third acquisition in five months will accelerate the adoption of video for candidates, employees, recruiters and hiring managers, optimizing support of a post-COVID, remote workforce. The addition of Talentcube’s technology advances Phenom’s ability to provide seamless video functionality at every stage of the talent journey.

In December 2020, Phenom acquired Endouble, an Amsterdam-based company known for enhancing the candidate experience across Europe. The deal expands Phenom’s regional presence and adds technical expertise — while strengthening customer onboarding and adoption of TXM.

In September 2020, Phenom announced its acquisition of My Ally, an AI-based HR technology company. Known for its expertise in automation, My Ally reinforces Phenom’s ability to deliver an intelligent, omni-channel interview scheduling experience. The acquisition comes just eight months following Phenom’s $30 million Series C funding round.

Phenom Market Opportunities, M&A and Geo Expansions

In October 2021, Phenom hired two executives to drive the company’s surging global growth. Thomas Gerstner will lead Phenom’s business in Central Europe, and Andy Joeres will oversee initiatives in the United Kingdom and Ireland, Northern Europe, Middle East and Africa. The positions were created to continue building momentum in EMEA, where there has been an exploding demand for talent experience, AI and automation from HR teams.

In January 2020 Phenom People has raised $30 million in a Series C round of funding led by WestBridge Capital, with participation from eBay founder Pierre Omidyar’s VC firm Omidyar Ventures, AXA Venture Partners, Sierra Ventures, Sigma Prime Ventures, Karlani Capital, and a fund belonging to AllianceBernstein.

The latest update on Phenom People in their ecosystem department is that they have partnered with SwoopTalent, a candidate sourcing platform, to improve the recruiter experience by providing talent acquisition teams with access to more qualified job leads. The integration automatically delivers best-fit candidate profiles into the Phenom CRM, increasing recruiter productivity by eliminating the need to manually source new leads and providing the ability to nurture silver medalists and other candidates with up-to-date information. Manually sourcing and updating candidate profiles is time-consuming and increases the risk of outdated and incorrect information.

The SwoopTalent and Phenom People partnership provides recruiters with an abundance of new candidates with the right information the first time around, shortening the time from sourcing to hiring. SwoopTalent houses hundreds of millions of candidate profiles, which can be accessed in the Phenom CRM. Phenom's AI solution reviews the imported job leads list and automatically recommends best-fit candidates for an open job. Recruiter experience is one of the four experiences that make up Talent Experience Management, which also includes candidate experience, employee experience, and management experience. The Phenom Talent Experience Management platform uses a holistic approach to connect the interactions between each of these experiences.

Phenom People is investing heavily in R&D to strengthen its artificial intelligence capabilities in order to improve its Talent Relationship Marketing offerings.

Phenom Risks and Challenges

In the past two years, Phenom People made several changes in their leadership team by appointing a new Vice President of Business Development, Vice President of International Sales & Strategic Partnerships, Vice President of Customer Experience, Vice President of Client Strategy and Vice President of Client Services.

The new Go-To-Market strategy and sales execution plan is expected to take place in the upcoming quarters by boosting its customer count to reach a critical mass is key to its long-term success.

In November 2020, Phenom announced its new collaboration with Microsoft Teams, simplifying how recruiters and hiring managers coordinate during the talent acquisition process. By integrating TXM with Teams, Phenom reduces collaborative friction within the most widely used communication channel by many small- and large-scale enterprises.

In December 2017, Phenom People become a Workday Certified Solution Partner to provide seamless integration between Workday Recruiting and Phenom People TRM Cloud Platform.

Earlier, in March 2017, Phenom People became a Silver Partner in the Oracle PartnerNetwork (OPN) Specialized program for enhancing recruiting operations to clients using Oracle Talent Acquisition Cloud.
