In 2019, A-Scan implemented Rossum.ai Platform for AP Automation to address high per-page costs and low accuracy associated with a prior template-based invoice extraction solution. Prior to the deployment, A-Scan reported that between 30% and 50% of invoices did not match established templates, leaving roughly half of vendor invoices processed manually and driving labor and cost exposure upward.
The Rossum.ai Platform was provisioned as a cloud-hosted, layout-agnostic invoice data extraction service, delivering AI-driven parsing, automated capture, and an intuitive operator interface. Rossum.ai Platform’s extraction capability handled every invoice layout, removing the need to create and maintain per-page templates and streamlining data ingestion for accounts payable.
Operationally the implementation became the primary invoice data processing tool for A-Scan’s accounts payable workflows, shifting workload from manual extraction to automated processing across the vendor base. A-Scan’s CTO cited the platform’s cloud hosting, competitive price, and fast, error-free extraction as decisive factors, and noted that Rossum saved the company the effort of creating well over a thousand templates.
