| Oracle | Legacy | Oracle Cloud ERP Accounts Payable | AP Automation | ERP | n/a | 2021 | 2021 |
In 2021, Westpac NZ implemented Oracle Cloud ERP Accounts Payable as a core AP Automation deployment to centralize invoice processing and controls within the finance organization. The initiative was driven by regulatory requirements to repatriate journals and reconciliations from Group and outsourced providers, positioning the accounts payable implementation as part of a broader compliance and control program for the bank.
The deployment included the Oracle Cloud ERP Accounts Payable module with configuration and testing focus on journals, reconciliations, and supplier invoice workflows. Testing activities explicitly covered integration points and transaction flows between accounts payable and the concurrently developed Oracle Fusion GL system, ensuring posted payables and journal entries reconciled into the new general ledger structure.
Operational scope targeted finance teams responsible for reconciliations and journal repatriation across Westpac NZ, with the work scoped to meet Reserve Bank requirements. Functional capabilities exercised included automated invoice capture and approval routing, AP-to-GL posting automation, and reconciliation support to enable internal ownership of previously outsourced ledger tasks.
Governance and rollout were coordinated through a Finance simplification working group, with leadership transitioning from member to group lead during the program, and with finance process redesign concentrated on repatriation of outsourced activities. Implementation emphasis was on testing, control alignment, and procedural handover to in-house finance teams rather than on external implementation partners.

| Oracle | Legacy | Oracle Cloud HCM | Core HR | HCM | n/a | 2018 | 2018 |
In 2018, Westpac NZ implemented Oracle Cloud HCM as a Core HR solution. The cloud-based deployment provided the Westpac Group with a single global HR platform to engage employees across locations and to provide a modern organisational design and workforce control platform.
Implementation emphasized Core HR capabilities, with configuration work targeting position and cost management, organisational structure management and workforce control workflows. Oracle Cloud HCM was provisioned to support position management processes, cost centre attribution and consistent organisational hierarchy modeling to enable standardized workforce planning and control.
Operational scope covered HR teams and business acceptance testing across multiple geographical locations and different Westpac sub-brands. Implementation and testing tooling included Oracle HCM, PeopleXpress, HP ALM and Jira, and migrated data was reconciled using Excel Macros during Dry Run and Go Live phases.
Governance centered on a structured UAT and business acceptance testing regime. The UAT Test Lead developed test plans and test matrices, elicited business process and reporting requirements from HR users, coordinated acceptance testing across locations, worked closely with developers to ensure solutions were fit for use, and reported daily test execution progress and defect status to the leadership team.
The HCM Transformation Program delivered new capabilities in position and cost management and established workforce control and organisational design processes across Westpac Group. Oracle Cloud HCM became the Core HR platform supporting HR functions such as workforce control, position management and centralized organisational design.

| Infosys | Finastra Misys FusionBanking Midas | Infosys Finacle | Core Banking | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2020 | 2020 |
In 2020 Westpac NZ implemented Infosys Finacle as its Core Banking application, initiating a migration from Finastra Misys FusionBanking Midas into an Infosys corporate core banking architecture. The engagement included data architecture and modelling work that ran from June 2020 to June 2024 and was executed within the bank's Data and AI Platforms Service Group in Auckland, New Zealand.
The implementation encompassed corporate core banking capabilities focused on wholesale money market processing and regulatory compliance workflows. Infosys Finacle was configured alongside domain models and data definitions for Regulatory and Compliance domains, specifically AML, GATCA, FATCA, goAML, and AML Detection Scenarios, and for Wholesale Money Market business architecture and data architecture related to the MIDAS to Finacle migration.
Integrations and operational coverage included conceptual and technical data product modelling for real-time bi directional data sharing of Customer, Financial and Policy data with Fidelity Life Assurance under the Strategic Alliance Agreement following the sale of the Westpac Life insurance business. The program also defined the migration path for the Westpac NZ Data Warehouse into a Data Intelligence Platform data lake built on Apache Spark and Hadoop HDFS, deployed on Cloudera and Azure cloud platforms, with event streaming patterns using Kafka and event driven architecture principles to support consumption and event sourcing scenarios.
Governance and process transformation work was led by data architects who defined the glossary and data dictionary, drove alignment to Westpac NZ data principles and standards, and advised on production, storage and consumption standards. Methodologies applied included Agile sprints, UML, TOGAF, Domain Driven Design, Data Mesh thinking, event modelling and event store approaches, with responsibilities covering identification of data risks and proposing solutions, and building stakeholder alignment to the new Infosys Finacle Core Banking data architecture.
