In 2017, Habib Bank implemented Oracle Cloud HCM as its enterprise Core HR platform for its approximately 21,632 employees. Oracle Cloud HCM was configured to support enterprise HR workflows and secure role based access, aligning HR transactional processing and master data management under a single application.
As part of the cloud expansion, Habib Bank moved into Oracle Cloud Platform services including Integration Cloud and BI Analytics, connecting Oracle Cloud HCM to the bank's broader cloud platform for integration and reporting. Integration Cloud was used to orchestrate system to system connectivity while BI Analytics provided consolidated HR reporting and analytical views, creating an integrated HR information layer.
Program governance was led by the bank's HR projects leadership, notably Taiyyaba Hussaini Head HR Projects SVP, and the rollout emphasized phased adoption across HR functions with formal change control and cloud governance practices. The deployment was anchored on an IBM iSeries OS400 environment and configured to interface with in-house applications through bespoke APIs and IBM web services, positioning the Finastra Misys FusionBanking Equation installation as the bank's central transaction processing layer.
Implementation covered core account lifecycle capabilities including account opening, full account portfolio management, credit rating support, and integrated name sanction screening. Real time customer risk rating was executed at customer onboarding and during subsequent profile upgrades, and ETL processes were applied for data migration and remediation from the old account opening system into the new account opening process to feed credit rating and sanction screening workflows.
Integrations were implemented using IBM Web Services REST JSON to expose and consume APIs, IBM MQ Series to communicate with external vendors for name sanction screening, and FTP transfers to a SafeWatch server for bulk account portfolio ETL processing. Development and operational tooling included RPGIII, RPG IV, RPG Free, RPG ILE, CLP/400, SQL and embedded SQL, Query 400, DFU and ALDON, reflecting a tightly coupled IBM iSeries application stack integrated with the Finastra Misys FusionBanking Equation core.
Operational governance combined continuous production support with structured data remediation and orchestration of API interfaces between in-house systems and Finastra Misys FusionBanking Equation, with 24x7 support availability for live environment issues. The implementation explicitly supported business functions across customer onboarding, compliance screening, credit assessment and operations.
