In 2018, TJX Companies implemented Oracle Lease and Finance Management for its US store operations including TJ Maxx, Marshalls, and Home Goods. The work targeted Lease Management capabilities as part of TJX's global R12 Oracle Financials upgrade program, R12.2.6.
The deployment concentrated on lease accounting compliance modules within Oracle Lease and Finance Management to support ASC 842 and IFRS 16, with application set-ups and configuration to capture lease terms, payment schedules, and right of use accounting. Project activities included workshops with business users to gather and document requirements and perform fit gap analysis, followed by solution configuration covering lease contract master data, amortization schedule generation, journal generation rules, and reporting constructs aligned to Lease Management functional workflows.
As part of the R12.2.6 program the solution was integrated into the Oracle Financials infrastructure to post lease accounting entries and support statutory reporting. Operational coverage centered on finance and accounting teams supporting the US store portfolio, aligning store property leases with corporate accounting processes, and centralizing lease administration within the R12 landscape.
Governance emphasized structured testing and cutover management, the implementation team led and executed CRP, UAT, and cutover activities in coordination with business stakeholders. Change control included configuration validation and reconciliations to financial ledgers to ensure ASC 842 and IFRS 16 accounting postings executed correctly within the Oracle R12 environment.
