In 2010, Aban Offshore implemented Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne to centralize its ERP Financial operations across the group. The deployment targeted Aban Singapore Pte Ltd and its network of 15 subsidiaries across six regions, supporting a group turnover exceeding USD 500 million and a balance sheet in excess of USD 1 billion.
The implementation concentrated on core financial modules including general ledger, consolidation accounting, intercompany accounting, accounts payable and accounts receivable to support end-to-end record-to-report workflows. Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne was configured to enable P and L analysis and variance reporting by business line, and to produce monthly consolidated financial statements for senior management.
Operational coverage included centralized consolidation for ASPL and its 15 subsidiaries, enforcing monthly close and reporting under Singapore FRS and Indian GAAP. The deployment standardized chart of accounts alignment and submission formats across legal entities, reducing manual reconciliations and streamlining consolidated close processes.
Governance and process transformation were driven by the Head of Consolidation Accounting for Aban Singapore Pte Ltd, who led consolidation accounting from June 2010 to July 2012 and participated as a key team member in the group wide roll out of the Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne ERP Financial package. Improved accounting practices and system configuration shortened the monthly financial statement submission cycle time from 15 days to 7 days.
