| Samsung SDS | Legacy | Samsung Knox Manage | Identity and Access Management (IAM) | CyberSecurity | n/a | 2019 | 2020 | In 2019, Abellio Transport Holdings deployed Samsung Knox Manage as part of an Identity and Access Management (IAM) initiative across its UK rail franchises. The deployment covered a fleet of approximately 30,000 Samsung mobile devices used in transportation field operations across the United Kingdom, and focused on standardizing device enrollment and lifecycle management for frontline operational staff. Samsung Knox Manage was configured to provide centralized device provisioning, policy enforcement, remote configuration, and ongoing device lifecycle support. The implementation leveraged Knox Mobile Enrollment and Knox Configure orchestrated via Samsung Managed Services to automate out of the box provisioning and bulk profile staging, and included enrollment automation, application and configuration profiles, and remote troubleshooting workflows. Operational integration was scoped to UK rail franchises and frontline operational teams responsible for field operations. The deployment architecture used device side Knox agents managed through Knox Manage consoles to enforce access controls and push updates across cellular and Wi Fi connections. Integrations were limited to Samsung Managed Services for enrollment and configuration orchestration as stated. Governance was organized around a managed subscription model and centralized device lifecycle processes, shifting device provisioning to automated enrollment and remote support workflows. Reported outcomes include a >99% deployment rate, reduced device downtime, and improved operational agility for the roughly 30,000 device fleet. | |
