In 2003, Acer Australia implemented Access MicrOpay (ex Sage MicrOpay) for Payroll to centralize Australian pay processing across its manufacturing operations covering approximately 2,000 employees. The deployment established Access MicrOpay (ex Sage MicrOpay) as the primary Payroll system for statutory pay runs, Australian taxation and superannuation calculations, and employee payslip distribution.
The implementation configured core Payroll modules including regular pay run orchestration, tax and superannuation computation, leave and entitlement management, and payroll reporting for compliance and internal payroll administration. Configuration emphasized national payroll rules and payroll processing workflows consistent with the Payroll category, with role based access for payroll administrators and finance stakeholders.
Operationally Acer Australia retained domestic payroll within Access MicrOpay while NZ payroll is managed by Ascender as an outsourcing arrangement on a monthly cadence, preserving a clear operational boundary between Australian in house processing and outsourced New Zealand payroll services.
