| Sage | Legacy | Sage Business Cloud X3 (ex Sage ERP X3) | ERP Financial | ERP | n/a | 2016 | 2016 |
In 2016 Aceto implemented Sage Business Cloud X3 (ex Sage ERP X3) as its ERP Financial solution to address complex regulatory and operational requirements across its Health Sciences, Chemicals & Colorants, and Crop business segments. The deployment targeted Aceto’s global importing and distribution workflows, replacing manual spreadsheet-driven controls with an integrated application platform designed to support formula management, lot traceability, and compliance documentation.
The Sage Business Cloud X3 (ex Sage ERP X3) implementation concentrated on industry-specific functional modules, including formula and certificate of analysis management, potency and by-product tracking, multiple packaging unit support, shelf-life and lot control, and traceability calculations such as specific gravity and weight. Financial capabilities were configured to support public company reporting and Sarbanes-Oxley controls, while customizations were developed to preallocate inventory from purchase orders to sales orders and to capture landed cost granularity including broker fees, terminal handling, ocean and inland freight, and duty.
Aceto engaged Innovative IT Consulting to define requirements and secure project governance, and the Sage Enterprise Management services team executed key customizations for the U.S. market. The rollout was organized around a cross-functional internal team across the three business units, and pilot exercises were used to validate process workflows for in-transit product tracking, Certificate of Analysis capture while goods were at sea, and order allocation prior to warehouse receipt.
Governance changes emphasized process standardization across business lines and tighter workflow controls for quality and regulatory documentation, enabling standardized credit and order approval workflows and more consistent foreign exchange cost tracking. Post-implementation outcomes reported by Aceto included streamlined and automated back-office processes, improved ability to meet financial reporting and Sarbanes-Oxley obligations, enhanced inventory management, and centralized control over complex compliance and order-to-cash procedures under the ERP Financial platform.
