In 2013 Acis Group Ltd implemented Infor SunSystems as its core accounting platform, deploying Infor SunSystems ERP Financial to consolidate finance operations. The deployment was focused on the finance function at the 150 employee construction and real estate firm and became a central system for month end and statutory accounting workflows.
Configuration work concentrated on fixed asset component accounting, purchase ledger processing, budgeting and forecasting, cash book and cash flow forecasting, and management reporting. The team used Infor SunSystems together with Infor Query & Analysis for reporting, and the deployment supported detailed balance sheet reconciliations, posting of receipts and daily bankings, verification of payroll journals, and production of complex monthly management accounts.
Infor Query & Analysis was instrumented for budget holder reports and forecasting, and a new Purchase to Pay iPOS system was introduced alongside Infor SunSystems to streamline procure to pay and purchase ledger operations. Operational coverage included the central Finance Department and ongoing interaction with budget holders across the business, with accounting processes exercised in month end close, fixed asset register maintenance, and ad hoc income and expenditure analysis.
Governance and process changes accompanied the implementation, including a Finance Department restructure and a component accounting project that re-stated over £24 million of assets and reconciled fixed asset registers to the statutory accounts. The finance team completed the first Fixed Asset Component Accounting Registers and received recognition from internal and external auditors for the accuracy of the reconciliations, while internal process improvements reduced monthly reporting deadlines from ten working days to five working days and supported training and development of new finance staff.
