In 2023, ACLU of Minnesota implemented Sage Intacct as its cloud financial system to simplify accounting and reporting for its finance organization. The deployment targeted the nonprofit finance operations that had been burdened with paper based management of every invoice, receipt and donation and slow end of month reporting processes.
Wipfli helped deploy Sage Intacct, configuring cloud based financial management and accounting capabilities including centralized data management, dashboard reporting, and automated financial reports. The implementation introduced automated transaction capture and processing workflows to replace manual data entry and Excel based report recreation.
Operational coverage centered on the finance operations team and organizational managers, with web based processes enabling remote work and mobile approvals for purchasing and check issuance. Dashboards and role based access provided managers at a glance visibility into financial activities and supported on demand review of accounts and grant related transactions.
Governance changes included a three tier approval process for purchasing and check printing that tightened internal controls and formalized approval workflows. As a result, the ACLU of Minnesota can produce end of month reporting in about 15 minutes instead of nearly two days, reporting is automated and leaders can analyze financial information rather than just organize spreadsheets, illustrating a shift in day to day finance operations under Sage Intacct and the ERP Financial deployment.
