In 2017 Acorn Life selected and implemented Vertafore ImageRight as its Enterprise Content Management platform. The Vertafore ImageRight implementation concentrated on core Enterprise Content Management capabilities, including document capture and imaging, centralized document repository and indexing, workflow automation for case file routing, and audit and version control for regulated document handling. Vertafore ImageRight was configured to support automated document processing and searchable records management consistent with typical ECM functional workflows.
Operational coverage was focused on Acorn Life operations and systems development, aligning content workflows with customer service and case handling processes to address service capability and customer wait time concerns. Governance for the program emphasized the PoC validation, cross functional oversight by the named team, and a measured selection cadence, culminating in the decision to standardize on Vertafore ImageRight.

In 2020, Acorn Life implemented FRS InvestPro to centralize unit-linked fund administration and respond to strengthened Central Bank of Ireland compliance requirements. Acorn Life implemented FRS InvestPro as a Portfolio and Investment Management platform to consolidate functions that had been performed across in-house systems and spreadsheets into a single, auditable administration environment.
FRS InvestPro was configured to provide an integrated general ledger, tax reporting and full audit trail alongside core portfolio administration capabilities. Implemented modules include internal fund asset liability and unit matching, box management, external trade management, asset servicing and pricing, Net Asset Value calculations, unit price calculations, cash allocation and rebalancing, trade order management, daily and month end financial reporting, reconciliations and InvestPro appropriation and pricing, together with calculations and controls for liquidity, AMCs, rebates and life fund tax requirements.
The implementation introduced an Optimum Operating Model to manage cash flows between Acorn Life’s member administration system and external investment managers, and FRS configured the InvestPro reconciliation tool for both broker and client assets plus an export to support the UK and Irish income minus expenditure life assurance tax reporting requirement. InvestPro was delivered on-premise using a two server standard architecture, the first hosting the worker and application layers and the second hosting the SQL database, and the migration of the book of business was executed without disruption to daily operations with assistance from FRS consultants.
Governance and operational change included staff training to shift users from manual processing to oversight and exception management, implementation of exception override controls, and general ledger checks to ensure consistency between unit prices, fund valuations, GL records and regulatory reporting. The program was completed in six months and explicitly produced stated benefits of reduced operational costs, reduced operational risk, faster unit pricing and investment accounting processing, and a comprehensive audit trail for Acorn Life’s investment administration and compliance functions.
