In 2014, Actian implemented Oracle NetSuite ERP to centralize core ERP Financial processes, replacing Sage Intacct. The deployment targeted the company financial stack and presales enablement workflows, aligning Oracle NetSuite ERP with Actian's Channel Presales Engineering Development activities and beta launch programs.
Configuration focused on standard ERP Financial modules including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, and financial reporting. Implementation work emphasized application-level configuration for quote to cash and revenue accounting sequences, and included automation of finance workflows consistent with a cloud delivered ERP Financial platform.
Integrations were explicitly built to support CRM and partner ecosystems, most notably integration with Salesforce.com to synchronize opportunity, quote and customer master data across CRM and Oracle NetSuite ERP. The program also supported CRM/ERP/SaaS partner touchpoints used for marketing and presales support, reflecting a systems architecture centered on cloud SaaS connectivity and API based data exchange between Salesforce.com and NetSuite.
Governance and rollout were organized around Channel Presales Engineering Development teams, who owned beta launch activities, presales support, and partner enablement for the Netsuite and Salesforce integration portfolio. The Egencia implementation focused on core Travel Management capabilities, including corporate booking, itinerary management, business travel card transaction capture, and expense report generation. Configuration emphasized policy controls and approval routing typical of Travel Management systems, enabling accounting staff to produce expense reports and reconcile travel card activity within existing financial processes.
Operational coverage centered on the accounting and finance functions, where an Accountant and AP AR Specialist managed vendor accounts, purchase order discrepancies, sales tax reporting, and invoice generation while using Egencia to handle travel card transactions. The deployment supported travel and expense activity associated with invoicing customers across multiple geographies, and daily Excel reconciliation was used alongside Egencia transaction data to maintain ledgers and vendor billing records.
Governance was maintained through centralized travel card management and expense documentation practices led by accounting, with process controls for expense submission and approval integrated into the travel workflow. The implementation connected Travel Management workflows to Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes through operational handoffs and document-based reconciliations rather than through named third party integrations. Egencia served as the system of record for corporate travel activity within Actians finance operations.
