Sage Business Cloud X3 (ex Sage ERP X3) is configured to handle core accounts payable capabilities, including supplier invoice capture and posting to relevant nominal codes, twice monthly payment runs, direct debit invoice verification and setup, supplier account reconciliation, and query resolution workflows. Functional controls reflect standard ERP Financial workflow patterns for invoice authorisation, ledger posting, and payment execution.
Operational ownership is anchored in a group-wide Accounts Payable team reporting to the Group Accounts Payable Manager, working closely with the management accounting function to reconcile supplier statements and resolve variances. Day to day execution is hybrid for transactional staff, with three days on site in Darlington and two days remote, and occasional UK travel to operations centres for cross-site coordination.
Governance is implemented through company authorisation policies enforced in the system, documented processing steps for supplier invoice handling, and role-based responsibilities within the Finance Shared Service Centre.
