In 2017 Actons Solicitors implemented Thomson Reuters Elite 3E as their Legal Practice Management application. The system was operational in the firm's finance team, with a Legal Cashier and Accounts Assistant using Thomson Reuters Elite 3E from October 2017 to May 2019 to perform day to day client and office accounting activities in line with Solicitors Regulation Authority requirements.
The implementation focused on core financial modules, including posting of financial transactions and data to the accounts database, invoice processing and filing, report building and distributions, production of cheques and electronic payments in line with firm SRA policies, and reconciliation of bank statements, client transactions and supplier credit accounts. Thomson Reuters Elite 3E was used alongside Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook for document generation and reporting workflows, and Barclays online banking supported payment execution and bank reconciliation.
Operational coverage concentrated on the firm level accounts and billing functions, coordinating internal colleagues and third parties for payment production and report distribution, with routine responsibilities executed by the Legal Cashier role. Governance and workflow controls emphasized SRA compliant client money handling, scheduled reconciliations, and standardized reporting processes embedded in Thomson Reuters Elite 3E.
