In 2015, Acturis Group implemented Sage Business Cloud X3 (ex Sage ERP X3) to replace Sage 50 across its finance organization. The deployment targeted core ERP Financial capabilities to centralize multi‑entity accounting and statutory reporting for UK and European subsidiaries.
Sage Business Cloud X3 was configured to manage month end processes including preparing and posting journals for accruals, prepayments and adjustments, and to maintain a deferred revenue schedule. The implementation encompassed general ledger and subledger controls, consolidation functionality for group statutory accounts under UK GAAP and IFRS, budgeting and planning workflows for annual budgets, quarterly commits and weekly forecasts, and fixed asset and capital expenditure tracking.
Operational scope covered multiple legal entities and supported finance, tax and FP&A business functions, including booking quarterly tax provisions and preparing corporation tax reconciliations. The system was used to prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns, Intrastat, EC Sales and P11D filings and to produce monthly finance reports with management commentaries in accordance with the group timetable.
Governance changes included streamlining accounting processes on Sage Business Cloud X3, preparing consolidated financial reports for the group, and setting up new legal entity structures on Sage X3 to accommodate new development entities and projects. The implementation formalized month end ownership and timetable adherence, and required coordination with external stakeholders including bank contacts, auditors KMPG, tax advisors and pension plan advisors.
The configuration supported operational continuity during staffing transitions such as maternity cover, by centralizing transactional controls and reporting workflows within Sage Business Cloud X3. Acturis Group Sage Business Cloud X3 ERP Financial integration of accounting, consolidation and tax processes established a single system of record for the group finance function.

In 2018 Acturis Group deployed QlikView as its Analytics and BI application to support reporting workflows for insurers and insurance brokers. The implementation centered on delivering dashboards and flexible reports that present operational and broker-facing information, with specification and development work led by internal reporting analysts.
The QlikView deployment emphasized reusable data models and dashboard sheets, coupled with scheduled ETL-driven reloads to keep datasets current. Reporting analysts created formal report specifications that extracted data from the company database, designed data structures to realize new reports and dashboards, and translated ETL SQL and report SQL into QlikView data model constructs.
QlikView was integrated with the Acturis data warehouse and source databases via established ETL processes, and reporting analysts validated output by comparing report SQL and ETL SQL against custom SQL queries to identify and resolve discrepancies. The implementation supported both internal reporting teams and broker-facing dashboards, with development and testing coordinated closely with data warehouse developers.
Governance was structured around specification templates, structured testing of SQL and ETL flows, and change oversight with data warehouse engineering to validate data structure changes prior to publication. QlikView served as the primary Analytics and BI application for scripted reporting and dashboarding, with ongoing maintenance and issue analysis handled by the reporting analyst function.
