In 2014 Advanta Global Services implemented Sage Business Cloud X3 (ex Sage ERP X3) as its ERP Financial system for corporate finance and operational recordkeeping. The deployment addressed the needs of a United Kingdom based insurance firm with roughly 150 employees and centered on establishing a single financial system to support accounting and management reporting.
The implementation covered technical and functional workstreams for Sage Business Cloud X3, including configuration of core financial capabilities typical for ERP Financial deployments such as general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, and financial reporting and statutory controls. Implementation activities included system configuration, role based access setup, and scripting of transactional workflows to align office processes with the ERP application.
The ERP rollout was coordinated with parallel internal initiatives, notably a client notification portal, an Outlook integrated CRM, and custom databases developed to replace Excel based records. Technical work focused on aligning data flows and import routines between those bespoke systems and Sage Business Cloud X3, while everyday IT operations continued to manage domain users, VoIP services, and on site and off site backups to support system availability.
Governance and operational ownership evolved after the project, with IT responsibilities split to separate project and systems oversight. The project led to an internal handover and role restructuring, resulting in the author becoming Change and Systems Manager in April 2017 after training a teammate to assume ongoing operations management.
