Seventh-day Adventist Church Legacy SunPlus Adventist Accounting Church Management ERP Services and Operations n/a 2020 2021
In 2020, Adventist University Of The Phils. Of Seventh Day Adventists Inc. implemented SunPlus Adventist Accounting to centralize financial operations, using the application as a Church Management solution for institutional accounting and administrative finance. The deployment targeted university administrative units and post-secondary academic operations, aligning the SunPlus Adventist Accounting implementation with the institution's business function of financial management across campuses. SunPlus Adventist Accounting was configured to support core financial management workflows common to Church Management software, including general ledger posting, accounts payable and receivable workflows, budgeting and fund accounting, and tuition or institutional billing processes. The implementation emphasized standardized financial configuration and chart of accounts alignment to enable consistent denomination reporting across education units, while retaining campus-level accounting controls. Operational coverage extended beyond the single university to a network of denominational colleges and universities, with several divisions adopting the software at scale. Divisions ECD, SSD, TED and WAD implemented SunPlus at 100 percent of their post-secondary institutions, while IAD and ESD prioritized administrative units first and phased educational institutions subsequently. Sample post-secondary organizations using SunPlus include Adventist International Institute of Advanced Studies Philippines, Babcock University Nigeria, Universidad Linda Vista Mexico, University of Eastern Africa Baraton Kenya, Northern Caribbean University Jamaica, and Mountain View College Philippines. Governance and rollout followed division-level strategies, with some divisions implementing colleges and universities in tandem with their administrative units, and others sequencing administrative deployment ahead of academic sites. Two divisions, SPD and NSD, showed no interest in higher education rollouts, while SUD has only recently initiated adoption. Practitioners noted that SunPlus Adventist Accounting proved useful in addressing denomination-wide financial management needs for colleges and universities, and rollout governance focused on harmonizing financial processes and reporting across regional education units.
