In 2008, Aetrex implemented Tecsys Elite Distribution ERP alongside Tecsys Elite WMS and Tecsys EDI applications to scale its Distribution ERP capabilities and centralize order and inventory control. The deployment targeted Aetrex’s central distribution at its New Jersey headquarters, comprising two warehouses totaling 150,000 square feet, and focused on moving away from paper-based warehouse operations toward RF-directed processes.
The implementation included Tecsys Elite WMS for warehouse management, Tecsys Elite Distribution ERP for core distribution processes, and Tecsys EDI for automated order flows and Advance Ship Notice generation. Configuration emphasized RF scanning, system-directed picking with both single-order and batch workflows, a 10 percent progressive quality inspection matrix on receiving, multi unit of measure handling, and support for mixed each, inner, case and pallet quantities.
Tecsys Elite Distribution ERP was integrated with EDI-driven order intake to pass orders through receipt, picking, shipping and billing, and to notify trading partners via ASNs. The solution extended beyond the four walls by linking warehouse operations to transportation management and business intelligence functions, enabling coordinated multi-carrier shipping with parcel, LTL, full truck and private fleet options for both distributor and non-distributor channels.
Aetrex assembled an internal implementation team, executed stress and acceptance testing, and completed the Tecsys deployment in about five months with consultant support. Documented post-go-live outcomes include processing over 100,000 line items and more than 6,000 orders per week, increasing inventory accuracy by 70 percent, increasing volume without additional staff by 80 percent, improving fill rate by 45 percent, and reducing cost by 24 percent.

| Zendesk | Legacy | Zendesk Chat | Chatbots and Conversational AI | AI-Powered Application | n/a | 2018 | 2018 |
In 2018, Aetrex deployed Zendesk Chat on their website as a customer facing conversational channel. The deployment uses Zendesk Chat within the Chatbots and Conversational AI category to provide real time messaging for customers browsing the Aetrex e commerce site, supporting customer service and online sales assistance functions.
Configuration centered on embedding the Zendesk Chat widget across key site pages and enabling standard chat capabilities such as live agent sessions, canned responses, proactive chat invitations, and session transcript capture. The implementation emphasized conversational workflows and agent-facing controls consistent with Chatbots and Conversational AI functionality, aligning chat routing and response templates to common retail support scenarios.
Operational coverage is focused on the Aetrex website and United States customer interactions, with the chat channel owned by online customer service teams and integrated into day to day digital engagement processes. Chat transcripts and messaging history are captured as part of the agent workflow for follow up and quality review, providing a persistent conversational record for customer support.
Governance and rollout were organized around centralizing real time customer engagement on the public website, assigning ownership to the customer service function and formalizing chat handling procedures, shift coverage, and knowledge base alignment. The narrative captures Aetrex, Zendesk Chat, Chatbots and Conversational AI, and customer service as the core relationship between company application category and business function.
