Jenkins Legacy Jenkins API Management PaaS n/a 2017 2018 In 2017 AFAS Software implemented Jenkins in an API Management capacity to centralize automation and expose operational telemetry from build and test activities. The deployment targeted engineering and QA functions within AFAS Software, with Jenkins configured to provide REST API endpoints and orchestration for automated testing workflows. The implementation emphasized programmatic access, with development of an Angular 4 dashboard that consumed the Jenkins REST API to present both global and detailed views of test automation. Jenkins was maintained and optimized by in-house software developers, and configuration work included job orchestration and the creation of infrastructure to run tests across multiple product versions. Jenkins integrated explicitly with Ranorex test automation for web, desktop application and mobile test execution, enabling Jenkins to trigger, monitor and report on automated test runs. Operational coverage was centered on the Leusden engineering teams and the Test and Documentation function, supporting continuous validation across development and QA pipelines. Governance and operational ownership remained within AFAS Software development and test teams, with a graduate project delivering a separate monitor that combined logging and diagnostics for the Next project, complementing Jenkins driven telemetry. Jenkins was used as an API driven control and visibility layer, with the full application name Jenkins and the Apps Category API Management reflected in runbook access and dashboard instrumentation.
