Workday Intuit Quickbooks Enterprise Workday Financial Management ERP Financial ERP n/a 2017 2017
In 2017, Aireon implemented Workday Financial Management as its ERP Financial system to consolidate disparate accounting and HR systems and to replace Intuit QuickBooks Enterprise. The program was scoped to centralize core financial controls and transactional processing for the accounting team while bringing HR transactional data into the same cloud financial platform, aligning the application to accounting and HR business functions. Workday Financial Management was configured to formalize core financial workflows and to automate previously manual processes, with emphasis on general ledger controls, accounts payables and receivables workflows, and the creation of managerial reporting. The implementation translated archaic business processes into automated functions within the ERP, and technical execution focused on embedding internal control points designed in collaboration with accounting and auditors. Operational rollout covered accounting, HR, and extended business users across the organization, with consultative engagement for department managers to develop new managerial reporting and to align reporting requirements with the application configuration. Training and end user enablement were overseen as part of the rollout, including instruction on new business process policies and on the technical execution of day to day financial and HR tasks within Workday Financial Management. Governance activities emphasized process transformation and control governance, with ongoing monitoring of Workday functionality and a continuous review of product feature releases to benefit Aireon’s accounting team, HR team and broader business users. Change management included managing user expectations and institution of new workflows and approvals to sustain the ERP Financial operating model.
