Infor Legacy Infor SunSystems ERP Financial ERP n/a 2013 2014
In 2013, Akakus Oil Operation implemented Infor SunSystems as its ERP Financial platform to centralize core financial processes for the companys Treasury, Budget and General Accounting sections. The rollout supported coordination between a small engineering support team and the companys departments and management committee, and the implementation focused on serving the financial department workflows and month end and year end closing cycles. Technical configuration work included creation of database objects such as tables, procedures and views within the Infor SunSystems environment, and development of SQL queries to extract transactional data from the SunSystems application and linked MS Access sources. Reporting was constructed from SQL views in Crystal Reports and delivered through SSRS, with report manager and report server configured and maintained to handle formatted exports and special fields such as dates and page numbers. Operational integrations and infrastructure responsibilities were concentrated on Microsoft SQL Server as the primary database tier, supporting data export to Excel and other formats, and routine DBA functions including backups, performance troubleshooting and recovery of lost tables. The team also assisted with physical infrastructure work including moving the customer data center to a different building and reinstalling system components tied to the Infor SunSystems deployment. Process and governance activities included developing bespoke financial applications to support the Treasury Section, Budget Section and General Accounting Section, modifying stored procedures and views to improve report quality, and managing the financial team to complete monthly and yearly closings. Staff contributed to cross functional process solutions and application needs while diagnosing and resolving database access and performance issues to maintain the operational stability of Infor SunSystems.
