In 2015, AKITA Drilling implemented Microsoft Dynamics GP as its ERP Financial system. AKITA Drilling implemented Microsoft Dynamics GP with WennSoft Signature Job Cost to unify financial reporting and job costing across its drilling and rig construction operations.
The deployment configured core General Ledger and payroll modules in Microsoft Dynamics GP and layered WennSoft Signature Job Cost for project accounting tied to rig construction and retrofitting work. Payroll was architected to run from a single corporate company to reflect staff rotation between 100 percent owned rigs and joint venture rigs, and to automate job cost and GL entries attributable to joint ventures.
Operational coverage included finance, payroll, project accounting and operations teams across Western and Northern Canada, with explicit handling for roughly one third of employees assigned to joint ventures. The integration between Microsoft Dynamics GP and WennSoft Signature Job Cost created a single transactional source of truth, enabling automated posting of labor costs and job accounting entries from payroll into project cost and GL ledgers.
Governance shifted toward centralized payroll processing and tighter financial process controls to ensure consistent joint venture allocations and reconciled reporting. As Heather Bazant, treasurer, noted, With Dynamics GP and WennSoft, we have that single source of truth, so we're no longer arguing over whose sets of numbers are right.

In 2017, AKITA Drilling implemented Ceridian Dayforce Payroll. Ceridian Dayforce Payroll was configured as the core Payroll application to support weekly processing of 400 plus exempt and non exempt US multi state employees and to centralize pay calculation and reporting workflows.
The implementation emphasized manual and controlled payroll processing capabilities, with Ceridian Dayforce Payroll used for end to end payroll runs, garnishment management, tax adjustment processing, payroll reconciliations, and payroll reporting. Functional capabilities implemented included weekly payroll processing for salaried and non exempt staff, manual calculation and verification of Paid Sick Leave accruals PSL, and handling of special payments such as COVID related pay, terminations, severance, vacation payouts and expense reimbursements.
Integrations and operational coverage reflected payroll operational needs, with documented compatibility and VMS sufficiency for Pason and welldata Totco. Payroll reporting was structured to produce General Ledger level entries each pay period for transmission to Accounts Payable, and payroll teams handled garnishment requests with ties into Accounts Receivable for recovery and validation.
Operational governance and workflow changes centered on strict pre payroll reconciliations and per pay period tax adjustment routines, with dedicated Payroll Administrator responsibilities for accuracy and controls. Processes included managing garnishment terminations and validations, reconciling all payrolls prior to completion, and manual validations to ensure the Ceridian Dayforce Payroll system was accruing and paying correctly.

| Hexagon | Legacy | HxGN EAM (Ex. Infor EAM) | Enterprise Asset Management | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2016 | 2016 |
In 2016, AKITA Drilling implemented HxGN EAM (Ex. Infor EAM) as its Enterprise Asset Management platform to manage field equipment and engineering assets. The application was later administered and managed by a Systems Training Manager who supported INFOR EAM administration, data management, and end user training during a remote assignment from September 2018 to December 2019.
HxGN EAM (Ex. Infor EAM) was configured to support core asset management capabilities, including asset certification tracking to maintain operating days and schedule timely renewals, asset lifecycle tracking to add, retire, and document material transfers, and downtime and preventive maintenance reporting. Configuration and administrative responsibilities emphasized data integrity, certification schedules, and PM reporting workflows.
Operational coverage and integrations included linkage to ReQlogic for procurement workflows and the Akita Intranet Portal for internal access and documentation, with LogMeIn remote access used for direct technical support to operations personnel. The system supported the Engineering department for upgrades and re-certifications and served as the primary point of contact platform for operations and field staff requiring system assistance.
Governance centered on an administrator-led model where the Systems Training Manager owned training, support, asset data governance, and coordination of certification renewals. Day-to-day operational processes were reshaped to ensure asset certifications and operating days were maintained in the system for timely renewals, while ongoing training and remote support were used to embed the application into engineering and operations workflows.
