In 2021, Akoya completed the S&P IHS Markit KY3P internal security controls assessment as part of its vendor risk and compliance posture in AML, Fraud and Compliance. The public announcement from Boston, MA confirms the assessment was evaluated against IHS Markit’s KY3P framework and is now available to be syndicated to financial institutions vetting Akoya as an API solution for data aggregators and fintechs.
The S&P IHS Markit KY3P engagement covered over 100 control objectives within a vendor risk management assessment framework, aligning with standard third party assurance practices common to AML, Fraud and Compliance tooling. Akoya positioned the KY3P assessment alongside its existing SOC 2 Type II certification to present a combined control narrative, enabling institutions to accept a syndicated assessment or perform their own due diligence.
Operationally the implementation is tied to the Akoya Data Access Network, where a single integration enables data aggregators and fintechs to connect directly with financial institutions via APIs to obtain consumer permissioned financial data. The syndication capability explicitly reduces duplicate assessment workloads for the 12 North American financial institutions and The Clearing House that back Akoya, and it creates a reusable assurance artifact that financial institutions can reference during procurement and onboarding.
From a governance and workflow perspective the KY3P syndication changes vendor risk intake by offering a prequalified assessment for counterparty review, which Akoya and institutions can elect to accept or supplement with institution specific checks. The messaging from Akoya emphasizes reduced friction in onboarding and accelerated due diligence for API based data access, and the S&P IHS Markit KY3P assessment serves as a standardized control baseline within the companys vendor risk management and procurement processes.
