In 1999, Alfa Display implemented Visma Mamut One as an ERP Financial solution, deploying Mamut Enterprise E5 together with Mamut Enterprise CRM and Mamut Enterprise Connect to consolidate accounting, inventory and customer workflows for four active users. The deployment unified order processing, stock control and invoicing into a single information system, supporting the company’s signage and profiling products across its Norwegian customer base of roughly 13,000 contacts.
Mamut Enterprise E5 was configured to manage inventory, orders and shipping coordination, with the accounting module integrated to enable credit control and payment history checks at the point of customer contact. Mamut Enterprise CRM provided a centralized customer database used for targeted group mailings and sales follow-up, enabling marketing campaign execution directly from the application.
The implementation used an ASP operational model in collaboration with Telecomputing, hosting Mamut on an external server and enabling remote access from offices, homes, cabins or while traveling via the Internet. Integration between Mamut Enterprise E5, the CRM and the accounting module provided real-time stock and customer visibility, and the hosted architecture reduced the need for on-premises server infrastructure.
Operational scope focused on logistics, sales follow-up, marketing and accounting, with the system handling inventory planning based on historical sales, capture of special orders and adjustment of shipping costs. Process changes included outsourcing IT operations to a fixed-fee ASP service and shifting routine accounting interactions so the external accountant worked directly with the integrated system rather than requiring manual handoffs.
Explicit outcomes recorded by the company included better control over stock and orders leading to lower costs and faster deliveries, improved customer visibility and credit control, and more time to concentrate on marketing and sales activities. The company also reported cost savings from the ASP operation and positive support experiences with ongoing product improvements to Visma Mamut One.
