In 2017, Alfa Romeo implemented IDSe42 as its Automotive ERP to support import and distribution operations for the brand in its regional footprint. The deployment emphasized IDS’s product focus on automotive and durable goods distribution, aligning core ERP capabilities with internet based B2B application patterns that IDSe42 is designed to deliver.
The implementation configured IDSe42 modules for supply chain management, inventory and parts management, order management, procurement, sales and financial accounting, with complementary services including business analysis, data conversion, education and training, and system and operational support. IDSe42 was provisioned to support distributor and dealer throughput, parts lifecycle control, and order to cash and procure to pay workflows common to automotive importers and distributors.
Architecturally the rollout used IDS’s internet based B2B interfaces to connect Alfa Romeo to its dealer and distribution network while maintaining a centralized ERP core for master data, inventory visibility and financial posting. The project included data conversion activities and software configuration to map import specific trade and logistics processes into IDSe42, reflecting the product portfolio IDS positions for vehicle import and distribution customers.
Governance and rollout were structured around project management and facilities management services provided by IDS, with phased implementation across commercial, logistics and aftersales functions and targeted training to operational teams. Operational support and business continuity services were established to sustain the IDSe42 Automotive ERP environment and ensure ongoing system and process ownership by Alfa Romeo’s business users.

In 2016 Alfa Romeo deployed the Artificial Solutions Teneo AI Platform as a Conversational AI Platform on its public website, introducing two branded virtual assistants, Giulietta and Tazio, as interactive customer-facing agents. The deployment positioned these assistants as the online face of the brand and emphasized natural language engagement to address visitor needs, improving conversational discovery across marketing and product content.
The implementation leveraged core Conversational AI Platform capabilities, including intent classification, entity extraction, dialog orchestration, and context-aware response generation to suggest relevant content and next actions. Conversational flows were configured to surface model-driven recommendations and to proactively present reasons to subscribe to newsletters, combining informational and entertainment-focused interaction patterns to sustain visitor engagement.
Operational coverage centered on the Alfa Romeo website and digital marketing touchpoints, with the virtual assistants influencing visitor journeys that intersect marketing, e-commerce, and customer experience functions. The assistants were used to target newsletter sign-up conversations more precisely, and content orchestration within dialogs was designed to convert informational interactions into measurable engagement signals for marketing teams.
Program governance included ongoing dialog content management and quality assurance cycles to keep conversational knowledge aligned with product and promotional changes, and editorial controls to preserve brand voice in automated responses. As deployed, Artificial Solutions Teneo AI Platform produced assistants that became trusted information sources, made the user experience more informative and entertaining, increased newsletter subscription rates through targeted suggestions, and contributed to efforts to drive more sales.
