| Workday | Oracle PeopleSoft ERP | Workday Financial Management | ERP Financial | ERP | n/a | 2017 | 2018 |
In 2017 Alight Solutions implemented Workday Financial Management as its global cloud platform for core financials, professional services automation, and human capital management, replacing Oracle PeopleSoft ERP for finance. The deployment targeted consolidation of finance, payroll and PSA workloads for a professional services firm with approximately 9,500 employees and a mandate to support over $500 million in EBITDA and more than 2,300 client engagements, positioning Workday Financial Management as the ERP Financial backbone for the organization.
The implementation covered core modules and configuration work including project maintenance, revenue recognition, invoicing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, financial accounting, general ledger, budgeting and planning, and analytics. Alight’s program management and finance leadership drove conversion efforts that included functional mapping for revenue and project accounting, configuration of GL and subledger controls, and setup of budgeting and planning models consistent with professional services billing and client reporting requirements.
Operational execution included centralized deployment of a Workday Financial Management instance integrated with Workday HCM and professional services automation capabilities, enabling shared master data for payroll and workforce costing. Technical automation and runbook work included HR payroll batch processing within Workday, scheduled batch jobs orchestrated via Control-M, client-specific communication configuration for print, email and text channels, and an upgrade path for customer communications from DOC1 to Thunderhead.
Governance and process changes focused on conversion governance, cutover scripts, and sustained operations for multi-client payroll and ad-hoc payroll processing workflows. Program leadership maintained finance and payroll change controls, handled client customizations, and institutionalized recurring batch schedules and exception handling for client payroll processing.
Alight selected Workday Financial Management after evaluating potential cost savings and the opportunity to move the business onto a single cloud system, with the stated objective of unifying finance, PSA and HCM as a consolidated ERP Financial platform to streamline operations and support client delivery.

In 2018, Alight Solutions implemented Phenom Talent CRM. The deployment surfaced Phenom People capabilities directly on Alight's public careers site and positioned Phenom Talent CRM as the enterprise Candidate Relationship Management solution to support talent acquisition and recruitment marketing functions.
Configuration emphasized career site integration, candidate profile enrichment, talent pool segmentation, nurture campaign automation, and workflow orchestration consistent with Candidate Relationship Management best practices. Phenom Talent CRM was configured to capture candidate touchpoints from the careers site and drive campaign management and candidate lifecycle workflows used by recruiting teams.
Operational coverage focused on corporate talent acquisition and recruitment marketing teams at Alight Solutions, with the careers site acting as the primary candidate engagement channel. The implementation routed candidate interactions into CRM-managed talent pools and supported recruiter-facing lists and campaign controls that standardize outreach and talent pipelining.
Governance centered on candidate lifecycle governance, role-based access for recruiting and marketing users, and campaign approval workflows to maintain data hygiene and messaging consistency. The architecture relied on Phenom People components embedded in the careers experience and on CRM orchestration to centralize candidate engagement data for recruiting operations.

| Workday | Legacy | Workday Professional Services Automation (PSA) | Professional Services Automation | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2017 | 2017 |
In 2017, Alight Solutions implemented Workday Professional Services Automation (PSA) as part of a broader adoption of Workday as its global cloud platform for Financial Management and Human Capital Management. After separating from AON in 2017, Alight faced an urgent Transition Service Agreement timeline and moved to a single system to streamline processes and centralize project and finance workflows.
The deployment of Workday Professional Services Automation included configuration of core modules that span Financial Management, Human Capital Management, Talent Acquisition, Expenses, Procure to Pay, and Projects. The implementation emphasized desktop and mobile access with single sign-on for project resources, standardized time-entry and reporting processes, and embedded analytics and profitability views to support on-demand project decision making.
Operationally the Professional Services Automation rollout targeted project delivery, PMO, finance, billing, and audit teams, reducing manual reconciliations and the need for complex point-to-point integrations. Real-time data and project-level cost and time visibility were enabled through the unified Workday environment, allowing project managers to double-click into project status and profitability metrics and shifting administrative effort back to the PMO.
Governance changes included a business process framework and tighter financial controls to support always-on auditability, automated finance closing tasks, and standardized billing workflows. The program achieved full desktop and mobile user adoption while restructuring reporting and audit support processes to require fewer resources.
Alight reported explicit outcomes from the Workday Professional Services Automation implementation, including a €100K reduction in annual TSA financial system spend, a 10 percent to 20 percent increase in project manager availability, a decrease in time to close from nine days to three days, reduction of the invoicing cycle from one week to two days, a 60 percent reduction in time spent gathering billing data, a 67 percent decrease in admin time to create invoices, a reduction in report development time from months to hours, and a tenfold decrease in time entry error rate.
