In 2021 Alliance for Responsible Mining ARM deployed BetterChain Consolidated Autonomous Due Diligence CADD on a Blockchain Platform to digitize artisanal and small scale mining due diligence, creating an auditable record of compliance activity. The implementation aimed to capture immutable traceability and timestamped evidence to support supply chain transparency and standards adherence.
ARM partnered with BetterChain to build the ASM Progress App on the Datastake platform to standardize reporting against the CRAFT Code and the Fairmined standard across Colombia and Burkina Faso. The deployment configured standardized reporting templates, ledger based provenance capture, and verifiable audit trails to ensure consistent impact reporting across sites.
The rollout targeted supply chain due diligence and impact reporting in mining regions, supporting upstream risk management and auditing workflows for buyers and certifiers. Functional coverage emphasized due diligence workflows, evidence capture, and packaged audit records that certifiers and commercial buyers can consume for verification.
Governance aligned field data collection and certification consumption to CRAFT Code and Fairmined reporting requirements, reorienting certification workflows around ledger entries and persistent records. The architecture combined BetterChain Consolidated Autonomous Due Diligence CADD with the Datastake hosted ASM Progress App to provide a single verifiable source of truth for ASM due diligence and impact reporting.
