In 2018 Ally Fashion Pty Ltd deployed MYOB AccountRight as its ERP Financial application to consolidate accounting operations across its national retail footprint and online channel. The deployment was positioned to support the corporate finance team reporting to the CFO and day to day bookkeeping tasks performed by accounts assistants. Ally operates over 160 stores nationally and a thriving online store, the implementation covered transaction capture and accounting workflows for multi store retail operations. The selection of MYOB AccountRight aligned the finance function to a common accounting platform.
MYOB AccountRight was configured to support core bookkeeping and general ledger maintenance, accounts payable and supplier payments, sales recording and cash management. The environment included credit card reconciliation, bank and cash reconciliation workflows, supplier statement reconciliation and GL preparation controls. Configuration also addressed electronic recordkeeping for leasing contracts and standard report templates to support accounting analysis and CFO reporting.
Operational coverage centered on the finance department, with routine transactional processing and reconciliations executed by accounts assistants and overseen by accounts management and the CFO. The implementation supported centralized handling of supplier payments, cash variance reporting and the maintenance of audit ready financial records for both store and ecommerce activity. Day to day use emphasized accurate data entry, reconciliation discipline and report generation to feed financial close processes.
Governance activities focused on standardizing reconciliation procedures, defining GL preparation responsibilities and formalizing electronic file retention practices for leasing and supplier documentation. Training and role definition were oriented toward building accounting capacity within the finance team, including Excel based analysis and consistent bookkeeping workflows aligned to MYOB AccountRight. Rollout emphasized process standardization and operational handoffs to ensure ongoing maintenance of financial controls within Ally Fashion.
