In 2018 American Society of Employers (ASE) deployed Clearstar ESR Check to operationalize BackGround Screening workflows for its HR verification function. Clearstar ESR Check was used by a dedicated Verification Specialist from September 2018 to April 2019 to process employment, education, professional and personal character reference orders and to manage candidate screening queues.
The implementation centered on core verification capabilities common to the BackGround Screening category, including order intake and tracking, employment verification, education verification, reference checking, release management, and document retention. The Verification Specialist leveraged internet search engines and directories to gather corroborating information, scanned documents into the system, and faxed signed releases to past and present employers as part of the evidence collection and verification lifecycle.
Operational coverage was concentrated within ASEs HR and verification operations based in Livonia, MI, for a 50 person nonprofit environment, with process artifacts maintained in spreadsheets to support case tracking and reconciliation. Email and productivity integration was handled through Outlook and Microsoft Office for correspondence, document preparation and record keeping, and governance emphasis was placed on release handling and auditability within the Clearstar ESR Check driven verification workflow.
