In 2018, AOG Srl implemented Broadcom Symantec Endpoint Protection as its Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) solution. The deployment provided corporate antivirus and endpoint security capabilities that were embedded into the company IT operations for the San Vendemiano headquarters and a distributed estate of 40 peripheral sites including Bingo Halls and Slot Machine Halls, under a user management engagement from February 2018 to May 2019.
Broadcom Symantec Endpoint Protection was configured as the corporate antivirus layer alongside Exchange 2016 mail management, delivering endpoint protection and malware prevention across servers and workstations. The implementation was operating-level, including routine agent deployment, signature and behavioral protection aligned with Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) functional workflows, and coordination with existing antispam controls LIBRAESVA and SYMANTEC MAILPROTECTION for mail hygiene.
The EDR deployment sat within a broader infrastructure footprint managed by AOG Srl, including VMware vSphere 6.0 host platforms, VPN links between the San Vendemiano site and 40 remote sites, Synology NAS storage for video surveillance backups, and backup systems using VERITAS and VEEAM. Operational toolchains documented during the period also included scripted alerting for WAN link drops, a DOS and PowerShell scripting platform to transfer daily closings and financial CSV files via FTP into the EASYDS management system, and configuration and backup management for Zyxel firewalls Zywall USG-310, USG-300, and USG-20.
Governance and operational support were executed through centralized configuration management, routine maintenance cycles, and on-site hardware repair and software support for end users. The implementation narrative emphasizes integration of Broadcom Symantec Endpoint Protection with the company mail platform and with broader infrastructure operations, while IT processes were extended to include scripted automation for connectivity alerts and managed backups across the estate.
