In 2022, Aptera implemented Rippling Benefits and Rippling HR Services to centralize compliance, payroll, and benefits administration. Aptera moved off its PEO in March 2022 and completed benefits setup and an open enrollment by July 2022, aligning the rollout with the Benefits Administration category for its 33 employee automotive business.
The Rippling Benefits deployment focused on benefits configuration and enrollment workflows, including COBRA management, HSA and FSA plan setup, and open enrollment processing. The implementation configured the platform to manage COBRA, HSA, and FSA administration and to automate payroll deductions and compliance reporting tied to benefits.
Operational coverage centralized HR and finance functions, bringing compliance, payroll processing, and benefits administration onto a single platform. Payroll automation within Rippling reduced manual payroll workstreams and allowed benefits deductions and pre tax account handling to be managed from the same system as benefits enrollment.
Governance shifted benefits administration from the external PEO to internal ownership on the Rippling platform, with a completed open enrollment cycle by July 2022. The company reported outcomes tied to the change, saving about $225,000 per year and freeing approximately 20 hours per month on payroll tasks.
