Oracle Legacy Oracle Learning Cloud Learning and Development HCM n/a 2012 2012
In 2012, Arcadia Group Ltd implemented Oracle Learning Cloud to address corporate and store training needs. The Oracle Learning Cloud deployment was scoped to support Arcadia's Learning and Development programs across the United Kingdom retail estate and central HR functions. The implementation focused on core learning management capabilities typical of the Learning and Development category, including a centralized course catalog, enrollment and assignment workflows, compliance and mandatory training management, curriculum sequencing and role based learning paths, and reporting dashboards for training completion and competency tracking. Configuration work emphasized content organization for store level requirements and manager access to learning approvals and team progress. Operational integration included synchronization with Kronos Time Management Clocks to align workforce attendance and scheduling signals with training status for store hourly staff, enabling learning assignment timing to reflect shift patterns. User provisioning and learner group segmentation were implemented to mirror retail hierarchies, with manager and HR views differentiated for store teams and corporate employees. Governance changes centered on centralizing training policy and approval flows under HR and L&D, establishing manager sign off for course completion exceptions, and phasing rollout to prioritize high risk compliance topics before broader skills content. The narrative documents Oracle Learning Cloud as the application platform supporting Arcadia Group Ltd Learning and Development initiatives in 2012.

In 2010 Arcadia Group Ltd implemented Oracle Endeca to provide Analytics and BI capabilities across its multi-brand ecommerce estate. The deployment supported 48 ecommerce websites including Topshop, Topman, Miss Selfridge, Wallis and BHS, and was managed through coordinated UK and offshore support, maintenance and development teams. Oracle Endeca was configured to deliver product discovery and search driven merchandising, using faceted navigation, relevance tuning and indexed analytics to support catalog exploration and campaign merchandising. Implementation work focused on Endeca indexing pipelines, relevance configuration, search tuning and experience management to surface product detail and category analytics for merchandising and site search teams. The Endeca implementation was integrated with IBM WebSphere Smarter Commerce Suite components, message flows using MQ, and transactional and catalog storage on DB2, with Akamai providing content and edge caching for storefront delivery. Architecture combined Endeca indexing services with storefront event feeds from WebSphere, synchronous and asynchronous MQ message patterns for catalog and inventory changes, and distribution of search responses through the Akamai layer to 48 live sites. Operational ownership covered the day to day management of service, support, maintenance and development, with a combined team of 20 FTEs across the UK and India and direct profit and loss responsibility for the account. Governance emphasized release management, index refresh cadence, search relevance and merchandising workflows, and coordinated support handoffs between UK and offshore teams to maintain site availability and search quality.
