In 2018, Areva implemented Kofax ReadSoft Online for AP Automation. The deployment focused on dematerialization of customer, supplier and overhead invoices to support accounts payable processing and finance validation, with specific emphasis on financial cash flow tests and accounting for customers, suppliers and general ledger flows.
Kofax ReadSoft Online was configured for invoice capture, optical character recognition, automated data extraction, validation rule sets and workflow orchestration to route invoices through approval and posting steps. Functional modules implemented included invoice capture and extraction, validation and exception handling, and workflow orchestration consistent with AP Automation practices, with technical and functional documentation produced to govern those modules.
The project documentation records BusinessObjects report creation for business, workshop and budget accounting needs, and notes resumption of Winshuttle activity, signaling integration points between capture outputs and enterprise reporting and data load processes. Reporting, query, BFC and BI workstreams were coordinated alongside the ReadSoft implementation to deliver structured reporting artifacts tied to invoice processing.
Operational scope encompassed TMA finances teams managing projects, developments and incidents in relation to India and broader business units, affecting accounts payable, treasury cash flow testing and accounting functions. Governance changes included establishment of GRC business roles, management of technical and functional documentation, and creation of CCR, OTP, OF and PS artifacts to support process control and auditability.
