In 2014 Asahi Refining engaged 6e Technologies to scope and begin implementation of Oracle Cloud ERP as an ERP Financial solution for its Salt Lake City operation, starting the project with a one day scoping workshop where project challenges and specific success criteria were defined. The engagement targeted consolidation of core finance and procurement workflows under Oracle Cloud ERP with a clear timeline and budget focus established upfront. The implementation deployed Oracle Financials Cloud, Oracle Purchasing Cloud, and Oracle Self-Service Procurement Cloud, using 6e Technologies Rapid Implementation Methodology and Oracle Rapid Implementation templates to accelerate configuration. The 6e team configured the environment largely through remote sessions while conducting onsite requirement gathering, conference room pilots, and go-live activities, enabling a condensed delivery cycle completed in less than 15 weeks. Operational coverage was focused on finance, purchasing, and procurement business functions for the Salt Lake City Asahi Refining site, with the program using remote meeting technologies to minimize travel and maintain momentum. Asahi Refining went live on October 9, 2015 and successfully completed its first month end under Oracle Cloud ERP, illustrating production readiness of the ERP Financial deployment. Governance and rollout emphasized tight success criteria, deadline and budget discipline set during the initial workshop, and a delivery model where 6e Technologies met users onsite only for key milestones while performing configuration remotely. The SI staffed onsite during the final phase to support cutover, and the reduced travel model produced large savings for the client while preserving project quality and control.
