In 2019 Ascott Residence Trust implemented Oracle Cloud ERP as its ERP Financial platform, replacing Oracle E-Business Suite 12.1.3. The deployment focused on centralizing finance and procurement capabilities across regional clusters including APAS, ANZ, MEAT, EU and IN, and extended configuration and rollout to newly acquired properties in Turkey, USA and Cambodia.
The implementation included core financial modules and data domains, with explicit work on Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, Fixed Assets, Purchase Order and Blanket Purchase Agreements, and master data for Customer, Supplier and Employee. Data migration used Oracle Fusion mass upload templates, specifically FBDI and ADFDI, and followed extraction, translation, data validation and reconciliation processes to move open AP, AR, FA, GL, PO and BPA transactions into Oracle Cloud ERP.
Integrations were designed and implemented to connect Oracle Cloud ERP to HRMS, RMS, SAP and other site systems, while existing interfaces with Cognos and Protel were managed for regional clusters such as ANZ, MEAT and APAC. The implementation team accessed and reconciled key object areas including Customer, Supplier, AR, AP, FA and GL transactions and worked with consultants and cluster users to align integration mapping and transaction flows.
Governance covered enterprise structure design and chart of accounts setup from the outset, with configuration of admin roles for support and user training for finance and procurement processes. Post implementation activities included regular and period close user support, disaster recovery planning executed with the steering committee, and coordination with internal and external audit teams to provide technical and functional evidence for controls and compliance.
