In 2019, ASOM-Net deployed A10 Thunder CGN as a Secure Web Gateway to address IPv4 exhaustion and support subscriber growth. The communications provider based in Denmark found A10 Thunder CGN through an Internet search, performed due diligence, and determined the A10 Thunder CGN application was the best fit for its network needs.
Deployment centered on A10 Thunder CGN's high-performance, highly transparent network address and protocol translation capabilities, consolidating NAT functionality on a dedicated appliance. The implementation offloaded NAT duties from the firewall, enabling ASOM-Net to continue serving its growing subscriber base without exhausting available IPv4 addresses and to extend the useful life of its security infrastructure.
Operational ownership was maintained by the internal network operations team, who configured A10 Thunder CGN for carrier grade NAT and protocol translation to align with subscriber routing and session handling workflows. ASOM-Net A10 Thunder CGN Secure Web Gateway supported network operations and subscriber management while reducing NAT processing on existing security devices.
