| R3 Corda | Legacy | R3 Corda Blockchain Platform | Blockchain Platform | Blockchain | n/a | 2020 | 2020 |
In 2020 Asseco PST completed a proof of concept implementation using the R3 Corda Blockchain Platform, applying Blockchain Platform capabilities to explore distributed ledger use cases relevant to the banking and financial services sectors. The engagement was positioned as an initial development to validate provenance, transparency, and trusted digital asset exchange beyond cryptocurrency use cases.
The R3 Corda Blockchain Platform implementation focused on core distributed ledger capabilities typical for the category, including smart contract flows, confidential transactions to preserve privacy, digital asset lifecycle management, and transaction interoperability standards. The implementation emphasized architecture attributes cited by R3 such as high transaction scale, software version longevity with concurrent network operation, security, and stability.
Operationally the project targeted financial services workflows and customer trust use cases, with Asseco PST aligning engineering and business teams to the R3 ecosystem model. The work connected Asseco PST to the broader R3 network of more than 200 members from banking and technology sectors, establishing a network-oriented approach for cross-organization data and asset exchange while keeping execution focused on banking-related provenance and credibility scenarios.
Governance design for the proof of concept centered on network membership controls, privacy-preserving transaction patterns, and standards-driven interoperability, consistent with Corda network norms. The architecture and governance choices were intended to support controlled rollout sequencing and the coexistence of multiple software versions on the same network, enabling staged onboarding of counterparties without sacrificing stability.
Asseco PST successfully completed its first Blockchain proof of concept on the R3 Corda Blockchain Platform, signaling a commitment to using blockchain to strengthen trustworthy relationships with customers through increased transparency and provenance. The project represents an early adoption of a Blockchain Platform to address credibility of products and services within financial services, and it positions Asseco PST to further develop production patterns for secure, private, and interoperable distributed ledger workflows.
