In 2016, Astra Life implemented Infor SunSystems to strengthen its finance and accounting capability, responding to increased reporting requirements from its joint venture parents PT Astra International Tbk and Aviva International Holdings Limited and Indonesian regulators, using the ERP Financial application to centralize statutory and management reporting. The deployment targeted the company’s Indonesian insurance operations and focused on improving the throughput and accuracy of monthly financial close and regulatory submission processes.
Infor SunSystems was configured to support core ERP Financial workflows, with implementations aligned to typical financial ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and consolidation processes, and transaction processing automation that increased per-employee transaction capacity. Configuration emphasized standardized chart of accounts and reporting templates to harmonize reporting across the joint venture and to meet parent company reporting requirements.
Operational coverage centralized finance and accounting teams, enabling streamlined month-end close and regulatory submission sequences across Astra Life’s finance organization in Indonesia. The implementation reduced manual reconciliation steps and rework in accounting processes, and supported consistent delivery of financial statements and regulatory packs.
As a result of the Infor SunSystems implementation, Astra Life shortened its overall financial reporting cycle to seven days, six days faster than before, which enabled the company to meet its internal reporting deadline on the fifth of each month and provide regulator reports by the tenth of each month. Faster reporting reduced the risk of late submissions, avoiding fines or penalties and mitigating the risk of losing the insurance license while improving operational efficiency within the finance function.
