In 2013 Aurubis Bulgaria implemented Serrala FinanceSuite Treasury as its core Treasury Management application to centralize cash and treasury operations at the Pirdop copper production plant. The Serrala FinanceSuite Treasury deployment targeted treasury and finance functions, explicitly supporting currency and interest rate databases, bank trades, company cash pooling for deposits and loans, and derivatives position management.
The implementation configured modules for short and long term cash flow forecasting, a cash forecast database spanning multiple banks and currencies, intraday cash balance collection and a Daily Cash Position report, and internal financial reporting to the Head Office. The solution was also used to manage monthly quarterly and annual closing tasks including accruals and valuation execution, and to maintain corporate credit card issuance and reconciliations.
Integrations were established with the site SAP ERP as part of broader financial workflows, and the deployment leveraged Serrala Hanse Orga Payment Management capabilities for payment processing and bank accounting automatic posting of bank account statements. Operational coverage included interactions with multiple banks and currencies and centralized reporting from the Bulgarian plant to group finance.
Governance and process changes included SAP key user participation in treasury related SAP projects, designation of a contact person for banks and external parties for cash management and payment transactions, adherence to group rules and European financial regulation monitoring with specific attention to EMIR, and incorporation of trade finance document processing workflows for letters of credit guarantees and documentary collections.
