| Oracle | Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations | Oracle Cloud ERP | ERP Financial | ERP Financial Management | n/a | 2020 | 2020 |
In 2020, Autolus Therapeutics initiated an implementation of Oracle Cloud ERP to replace Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations. The engagement was run under a single ERP Project Manager from September 2020 to December 2020, focused on in-depth scoping, re-costing and detailed configuration planning, and the scoping exercise resulted in a decision to postpone the full rollout until Q3 2021.
Planned configuration prioritized core capabilities consistent with the ERP Financial category, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, procurement invoicing and period close orchestration. Implementation workstream planning emphasized chart of accounts redesign, accounting rule setup, financial reporting templates and automation of recurring journals and close tasks to align accounting operations with the new Oracle Cloud ERP configuration.
Operational coverage targeted the finance, accounting and procurement teams at Autolus's London site, with project activities coordinated alongside parallel clinical IT work. The ERP Project Manager concurrently managed an implementation of Medidata's Clinical Trial Management System during the same period, indicating overlapping program activity between finance systems planning and clinical systems delivery.
Governance relied on a centralized ERP Project Manager role to own scope control, cost re-estimation and schedule decisions, and the explicit outcome from the 2020 scoping was a deferred deployment timeline to Q3 2021. Oracle Cloud ERP was established as the target ERP Financial platform to support subsequent finance process standardization and closer month end governance.

| CIPHR | Legacy | CIPHR HR | Core HR | HCM | n/a | 2015 | 2015 |
In 2015 Autolus Therapeutics implemented CIPHR HR as its Core HR system to centralize HR information and introduce employee self service across AUTOLUS LIMITED. The deployment was driven by the HR Manager and targeted the full employment lifecycle, with the system serving HR, hiring managers, the Executive team, and Board level reporting needs as the company scaled from 22 to 93 employees during the rollout period.
CIPHR HR was configured to support core HRIS capabilities including employee records, onboarding and induction workflows, recruitment and selection tracking, performance and absence management, benefits administration, and payroll interfacing controls. The implementation emphasized self service for employees and managers and included configuration of analytics and reporting to produce trend reports for executive decision making.
Operational integrations and process linkages included coordination with the outsourced payroll bureau and HMRC related workflows, and management of immigration compliance processes that required liaison with the Home Office and UKVI where the HR lead acted as the company primary contact and level 1 user. The system was used across HR operations, recruitment, rewards and pay reviews, and staff development programs, and supported relocation and visa processing for senior hires.
Governance and rollout combined policy and process workstreams with system enablement, the HR Manager drafting and implementing key HR policies and a staff handbook while project managing the new system introduction to move manual processes to automated ones. Rollout included manager training, a Managers Forum for ER guidance, and embedding the first management development programme to align people processes with company growth.
Outcomes recorded during and after the implementation included freeing HR staff time through self service and automated HRIS workflows, positive employee feedback on onboarding, obtaining the companys first Home Office sponsorship licence and visas for senior roles, and documented cost savings from recruitment renegotiation averaging 20 percent where noted. CIPHR HR provided the structural HR platform to support rapid headcount growth and ongoing HR analytics and governance.
