In 2014, Bakers + Baristas implemented Bizimply Workforce Management, a Time and Attendance solution to centralize scheduling, attendance tracking and labour oversight across its UK and Ireland cafés. The rollout targeted an estate of 41 locations and was designed to give head office teams in finance, accounting, payroll and operations, together with store managers and regional operations managers, a unified view of weekly hours and labour costs. Prior to Bizimply the company managed rosters and attendance using Excel spreadsheets which created inconsistent visibility into actual hours and labour expense. Bizimply Workforce Management was configured to deliver core Time and Attendance capabilities including roster creation, real-time clocking via the Timestation App and a centralized dashboard that presents predicted and actual labour hours and costs. Sales figures are entered into the platform so the dashboard shows actual and forecasted labour to sales percentages, enabling managers to compare target versus actual labour in-week. Scheduling workflows were standardized to reduce manual spreadsheet reconciliation and speed rostering by store managers. Operational use covered all cafés across the UK and Ireland, with area managers and store managers using the Timestation App for employee clock-in and the Bizimply dashboard for monitoring staffing levels in real time. The implementation placed workforce data into a single operational view accessible to finance and payroll for weekly validation of hours, and to operations for frontline staffing adjustments. Governance and rollout emphasized centralized control of labour expense and simple adoption across the 41 location estate, with area managers and employees reporting ease of use. The implementation delivered live visibility of who was working at any time and enabled proactive staff management, outcomes that the company cited as yielding real savings according to CFO Dermot McMahon.
