In 2016, Bakhtar Bank engaged JMR Infotech to implement Oracle Flexcube as its Core Banking platform. The engagement supported the bank's conversion toward becoming a full fledged Islamic Bank in Afghanistan and targeted improved operational efficiency, enhanced Shariah compliance and expanded product offerings.
The deployment included Oracle Flexcube core modules and the Oracle Flexcube Direct Banking solution, with configuration work focused on account management, deposits, payments, product configuration and Shariah compliant product workflows. Implementation activities emphasized product catalog setup, compliance control points and workflow automation consistent with Core Banking capabilities.
JMR Infotech served as the systems integrator, delivering through its Extended Arm engagement model and leveraging its delivery and development centers. The deployment architecture centered on a bank wide Core Banking instance to support branch operations and direct banking channels for retail and corporate banking functions at Bakhtar Bank.
Program governance was driven by Bakhtar Bank senior leadership with phased rollout planning to align product launches with Shariah compliance reviews and operational readiness. The project was positioned to enable new product offerings, tighter compliance controls, more cost effective operations and an improved customer experience.
