Oracle Legacy Oracle Flexcube Core Banking ERP Services and Operations n/a 2010 2011
In 2010, BancABC Zimbabwe implemented Oracle Flexcube as its Core Banking platform. The program is documented under the Oracle FLEXCUBE Universal Banking Solution name and was scoped to unify retail and corporate banking operations across the BancABC group. The implementation consolidated separate retail branch solutions onto a single common banking platform, standardising business processes and centralising banking operations. Functional coverage delivered by Oracle FLEXCUBE Universal Banking Solution included retail banking, corporate banking and treasury capabilities, together with product provisioning workflows to enable faster product introduction across markets. Oracle FLEXCUBE’s open architecture was used to enhance interoperability with third party systems, explicitly integrating with the bank’s retail branch application to provide a consolidated operational view. Due to visa regulations in some countries, Oracle provisioned and implemented the solution remotely through a secure VPN, with one consultant on site and the Technology Deployment Management Services team operating from South Africa. The rollout began with a Zimbabwe go-live in January 2011 and completed with Mozambique going live in November 2011, delivering the Core Banking platform across BancABC’s five-country footprint including Zambia, Botswana and Tanzania. The deployment was positioned to reduce maintenance costs, enable faster time to market for new products and improve customer servicing by bringing retail and corporate operations onto Oracle FLEXCUBE Universal Banking Solution.
