In 2018 Barkman Honey deployed XPS Ship as its Shipping Management platform to support order fulfillment activities at its Hillsboro, KS facility. The implementation was centered on automating packing and shipping workflows for direct ecommerce and marketplace orders, while retaining manual processes for palletizing and gift pack assembly.
XPS Ship was configured to import and print orders from Amazon and WooCommerce, supporting label printing and pick and pack workflows used by the fulfillment team. The deployment leveraged XPS Ship advanced filters to prioritize and segment orders, and the vendor's Batch Shipping feature was used to purchase shipping for 150 plus orders in a single operation, reducing per-order transaction steps.
Operational integrations included direct order feeds from Amazon and WooCommerce into XPS Ship, with outbound logistics arranged for pallets consolidated and shipped to Amazon warehouses. The scope of use covered packing, small parcel fulfillment, inventory accounting and transfers from Barkman Honey's main facility, and assembly work for branded honey gift packs, impacting order fulfillment, shipping operations and inventory management functions.
Process governance evolved through team-level standardization of filtering rules and batch shipping procedures, enabling the seasonal peak where the team fulfilled over 500 orders of honey during the holiday season.
