In 2019, BHI Energy implemented Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations. The deployment established Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations as the ERP Financial backbone to consolidate payroll and human resources across its operating units, with CEM Business Solutions supplying industry-specific add-on modules and configuration.
The implementation included CEM’s Human Resources and Payroll modules, explicit support for Union Payroll, and construction-specific modules tailored to trades and outage work scheduling. Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations was configured to support mass hiring workflows, workforce planning, time capture for union and non-union trades, and payroll processing rules, aligning functional workflows across HR, payroll, and field operations.
Operational coverage spanned seven distinct legal entities across the Continental U.S., with a concentration on East Coast operations, and was designed to enable each business unit to communicate more effectively with corporate headquarters. Integrations focused on tying key operating units together to improve data consistency and interoperability between field staffing, timekeeping, and corporate payroll and HR records.
Governance and process restructuring centered on standardized hiring and payroll practices, procedures for managing union and non-union compensation, and role-based access to financial and workforce data. CEM Business Solutions, noted as a Microsoft Gold Partner ISV, provided the add-on modules and industry configuration that support BHI Energy’s plan to plan, track, and compensate its workforce over an extended operational horizon.

| Quadient | Legacy | Quadient Neopost IS-6000 | Mailing System | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2013 | 2013 |
In 2013, BHI Energy deployed Quadient Neopost IS-6000 as its primary Mailing System for centralized mail and courier operations. The Quadient Neopost IS-6000 was implemented to support customer service delivery channels handling USPS, UPS, FedEx, and a company fleet courier network while operating a Neopost stamp machine used to track postage costs.
The deployment emphasized postage metering and postage accounting capabilities, with configuration focused on stamp machine operations, cost allocation by job or department, and postal rate handling consistent with a Mailing System profile. Standard mailing workflows were instrumented for meter stamping, postage reconciliation, and internal cost tracking to align mail processing with corporate cost controls.
Operational integrations included direct handling of carrier tendering and documentation for USPS, UPS, and FedEx, plus coordination with fleet-wide courier scheduling and pickups. The system was used by customer service and mail operations teams and provided support to service area cleaning activities when required, establishing the mailing infrastructure as a functional hub for physical document distribution.
Governance and operational readiness were driven by training and safety certifications, including MSA CARE initial training and fire safety certification, along with Scott certified respirator care and repair. Staff skill sets extended to fit training and specialized site safety areas such as coal lab, asbestos, cold tool, CPAP, and SCBA mask handling, which were integrated into operational rollout and ongoing mailroom procedures.
