In 2024, Bata Italy deployed SOTI MobiControl for EMM / MDM / MAM to centralize management of retail endpoints across multiple store locations and to support store IT help desk and retail operations. The implementation focused on device lifecycle management within the store support and service function, with first line support staff using SOTI MobiControl for monitoring, updating, and troubleshooting mobile and point of sale devices.
Configuration work emphasized standard EMM capabilities, including device enrollment, remote configuration, policy enforcement, application distribution, inventory and device diagnostics. SOTI MobiControl was used to push updates and remote commands, and to surface device health and compliance data for operational teams responsible for store uptime and user support.
Operational integrations included database management with MySQL to maintain device records and data integrity, network device configuration and monitoring via Meraki Dashboard, and defect management and resolution tracked through the ORS ticketing system. These integrations supported a coherent device management workflow where SOTI MobiControl provided endpoint control, MySQL retained authoritative device metadata, Meraki handled network layer configuration, and ORS managed incident lifecycle.
Governance and process changes centered on formalizing first line support workflows and escalation paths, with IT help desk staff liaising with central IT to improve operational processes and user experience. Ticket driven defect management and coordinated updates through SOTI MobiControl created repeatable provisioning and troubleshooting procedures for store IT operations.
