In 2023, BBN Airlines Indonesia signed a multiple-year agreement to adopt Lufthansa Systems AG's Lido mPilot and Lido FMS for Flight Management. BBN Airlines Indonesia is Lufthansa Systems’ first customer in Indonesia to use their charting solutions, selecting the implementation on the basis of high data quality and world class 24/7 support.
The implementation centers on Lido mPilot as an all-in-one navigation application that provides pilots with navigation charts, operational documents, and message delivery on their devices, and on Lido FMS as the certified navigation database that generates the charts. Lido FMS supplies worldwide aeronautical data including airports, airways, waypoints, radio beacons, holding patterns, and approaches, and holds an EASA Service Provider Certificate Type 1 while complying with RTCA DO-200, RTCA DO-201 and ARINC 424 standards.
Operational scope explicitly targets flight operations and flight crew workflows, improving situational awareness and enabling crews to focus on safe and efficient aircraft operations. The solutions were chosen for user-friendliness that supports operational efficiency and for data quality that underpins dispatch and navigation functions, with Lido charts produced directly from the certified Lido FMS navigation database.
Governance and operational alignment followed the charting standard developed by navigation experts in collaboration with pilots, licensed dispatchers, and IT specialists, enabling device-level provisioning to flight crews and centralized data management from the certified database.
