In 2015 BCS Group implemented Microsoft Dynamics AX - SCM Module to centralize Supply Chain Management for its UK distribution operations. The deployment targeted the company as a 120 employee distributor headquartered in the West Midlands, aligning application scope with distribution, procurement, warehouse and order fulfillment functions.
The implementation configured Microsoft Dynamics AX - SCM Module with core SCM capabilities including inventory management, warehouse management, procurement workflows, order management and replenishment rules. Configuration emphasis was placed on transactional inventory controls, warehouse picking and putaway logic, and master data consolidation to ensure consistent product, supplier and location records.
Operational integration focused on synchronizing supply chain processes with core commercial and operational functions, creating end to end order to fulfillment flows that link sales order intake, procurement replenishment and warehouse execution. The rollout covered distribution, procurement and warehouse departments at BCS Group’s West Midlands operations and was structured to support routine warehouse workflows, stock valuation methods and logistics scheduling.
Governance and change management leveraged existing ICT programme and change management capabilities to drive adoption, formalize operating procedures and institute data governance for supply chain master data. Training and staged cutover phases were used to stabilize warehouse operations and establish ongoing operational ownership for Supply Chain Management within the business.
