In 2008, BEC A/S implemented Microsoft Dynamics AX as its ERP Financial platform to centralize finance and accounting for its Denmark-based operations. The implementation targeted Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 and was positioned to support corporate financial management across a 650 person banking and financial services firm.
The Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 deployment was configured to support core financial management workflows including general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, and budget control, with finance process automation and controls tailored to banking sector requirements. The Microsoft Dynamics AX application was instrumented to act as the transactional financial system of record while feeding downstream planning and reporting processes.
Integrations included Basware Alusta Invoice Pro for eInvoice using OIOUBL standards and OCR processing to automate capture and AP invoice handling. Reporting and planning were implemented with SAP BO and SAP BPC, delivering monthly financial reporting, budget planning and consolidation workflows that consumed transactional data from Microsoft Dynamics AX and consolidated it for FP&A and group reporting.
Governance workstreams focused on business process improvements and the introduction of LEAN administration to standardize month end and budget cycles, and to align operational finance teams such as accounts payable, treasury and FP&A. Process redesign emphasized integrated financial workflows between Microsoft Dynamics AX, Basware Alusta and the SAP BO BPC stack, establishing a managed reporting and planning cadence without disclosing external implementation partners.

In 2011, BEC A/S implemented HCL Commerce (ex IBM Websphere Commerce) as its eCommerce platform, deploying HCL Technologies' HCL Commerce into the company’s banking and financial services environment. The implementation established HCL Commerce as the primary commerce application supporting online storefront and order processing workflows within BEC A/S.
The technical architecture transitioned the application tier from IBM WebSphere application server to JBoss EAP 6.1, hosted on Windows 2003 initially and later on Windows 2008 R2. The persistence layer used Oracle Enterprise Edition 11g with VPD enabled object policies to enforce data segregation, and application to database communication was handled via Hibernate.
Integration and messaging were structured around IBM WebSphere Message Broker functioning as the ESB and IBM Message Queueing for transport, providing synchronous and asynchronous routing between the commerce application and other internal systems. These middleware components were configured to support end-to-end message flows and transaction coordination for commerce operations.
Implementation work concentrated on application server tuning, JBoss EAP configuration, middleware orchestration and database policy enforcement. HCL Commerce supported core eCommerce capabilities such as storefront, catalog, checkout and order processing, with governance focused on server configuration management, message broker orchestration and VPD-driven data segregation to maintain operational isolation.
